World Changers

The next projects will be on July 19-26, 2008!

THINK ABOUT IT:

  • Substandard homes being repaired---hours and hours of hard labor in severe heat.

  • Host churches providing meals for the crews doing the hard labor---sacrifice, time, and expense.

  • 150-plus volunteers from all over Calhoun County---hours and hours of labor
    cleaning and working.

  • Groups passing out popsicles---time and expense

  • Bottles of water being donated, collected, and provided for the workers---
    time, energy, and expense.

  • Your Associational staff working year round in preparation for this week---
    time, energy, and more time.

  • Home owners being ministered to, the Gospel being shared, souls being saved, young people doing missions, and lives being changed---PRICELESS!!!

This is what World Changers is all about. Aren't you glad that you are a part of it as a member of Calhoun Baptist Association!

What is World Changers?
World Changers is a coed mission experience for youth and adults. It combines free labor with local agencies to make a difference in a community.

Why is World Changers making a difference?
When World Changers began in 1990 the goal was to change the way we approach mission education, to get students out of the classroom and into a hands-on mission experience. The focus was to change the life of the participants by giving them an opportunity to change someone elses world. That focus is still true today. Even though World Changers has become a strategic plan to eliminate substandard housing for many communities, the focus is still changing the world of the participants by giving them a hands-on mission experience.

The History of World Changers
World Changers is sponsored by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. World Changers began with a focus on involving senior high youth in hands-on missions. Since its beginning in 1990, World Changers has been committed to offering first-rate mission experiences. World Changers has expanded every year. It now offers a variety of projects for all ages.

The Mission of World Changers
 World Changers seeks to provide Christian youth and adults with opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others through practical learning experiences that teach servanthood and personal commitment to missions.

Interdenominational Participation
World Changers is Southern Baptist in its initiative, doctrine, and organization. We welcome the participation and cooperation of like-minded evangelical Christian churches that share the desire to advance the gospel through missions. All individuals and groups must complete the pre-project study to participate.
